South Indian sensation Asin always dreamed of  ruling the Bollywood and expressed her desire many a times. She even declined a few Tamil movies for the sake of Bollywood and also shifted her residence to Mumbai from Chennai. She could finally get into Aamir’s Ghajini, one of the biggest movies in the Bollywood this year and even before this film is released she already got her second opportunity, this time with ‘not-so-big’ Ranbir Kapoor.

If gossip is to be believed, Asin and Ranbir are casted in an untitled movie, to be produced by the GV Films, which is a prominent business house in South India. The idea behind taking Asin, is to release this film in both Hindi and Tamil at a time and having Asin is crucial for the film’s success in Tamil Nadu. It is also reported that this film will be a sci-fi and might be similar to the other sci-fi from Shankar and RajniKanth, Robot.

‘Raavan’ being directed by Mani Rathnam is this years biggest project in the Bollywood. This is based on the Indian epic Raamayanam but focuses on the negative role of Raavan, instead of Raam like many of the earlier films based on this epic. This film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Tamil actor Vikram in the lead roles, with Vikram playing the ‘bad guy’.

 Currently the movie is being shot in some dense forests in the state of Kerala. The film unit and especially Mani Rathnam is vvery careful not to allow any media person to the premises of shooting as he is not willing to release even a single photo of the movie till the movie is completed. This is to maintain the curiosity among the audience. Even the local tribals who live in the forest are not being allowed to the shooting spot. 

The film unit is also taking lot of trouble to continue the shooting in a remote location. Outsider cars are not allowed in these protected forests and the entire film unit had to use the jeeps provided by the local forest authorities which are very inconvinient! Mani Rathnam is taking lot of pains for his dream project!

Every scence in this movie is being shot twice - once for Tamil and once for Hindi languages.

Asin was a very successful actress in south India, especially in the Tamil Industry. She has acted with almost all the leading heroes in the Tamil as well as the Telugu film industries. Off late, Asin, in the footsteps of her contemporary Genelia has decided to focus on the Bollywood and thus gain national recognition rather than limiting herself to the Southern India. She has made some sincere attempts and finally could get a chance in Aamir Khan’s prestigious project Ghajini.
She considered herself damn lucky to be able to get into such a prestigious film in her first movie in the Bollywood. She considred this movie very important for her future in the Bollywood and thus agreed to all the conditions of Aamir Khan. She also agreed for some skin show, which she usually does not do in the south Indian films. She also dropped all her south Indian movies as per Aamir’s condition that she should not act in any other movie in parallel. Finally she moved her family to Mumbai from Chennai, hoping that she would be able to attract more Bollywood offers by staying in Mumbai.
Everything went fine and Ghajini was finished. However, Asin was highly disappointed by the promos of this film. She believes that Aamir Khan has completely dominated that promos which do not even show Asin for a few seconds. She wanted to gain popularity in the Northern India with this film, but Aamir decided the other way. Asin has expressed her feelings in an interview to a newspaper.
What if she didn’t find a place in the promos? She will anyway be seen in the movie. She shouldn’t have talked so with the concerned newspaper. If Aamir Khan finds this offensive, he will make sure that she has no future in Bollywood!
