Indian music maestro, AR Rahman had achieved a never before feat by getting nominated to the Oscar’s for best original score.  AR Rahman is the first Indian to be nominated for Oscar’s and if he wins he would create history in the sub continent.

Two songs composed by Rahman for the movie Slumdog Millionaire are nominated for Oscar awards. This happened a few days after Rahman bagged the Golden Globe award for the same music. In the Oscar field, the two songs composed by Rahman are competing with a song from the Hollywood and thus Rahman stands a high chance to win the prize. Lets pray that India would get its first Oscar.

Off late Rani Mukherjee seems to be very determined to attain a slim and attractive figure. A few years back, Rani was the most sought after heroine in the industry but soon lost to Kareena, Katrina etc. These new ladies had sultry figures while Rani Mukherjee has gradually bloated over the years. She turned so unattractive that she did not even get a single film offer after the ‘classic’ movie Black.

But Rani is not going to give up. After the release of Ghajini and seeing the amazing body, Aamir Khan built, Rani decided that she too should hit the gym and get into shape. On Aamir’s advice, Rani appointed Satyajit(Aamir’s physical trainer) as  her physical trainer and within a matter of few months dropped some weight and started looking more beautiful. However, she is not satisfied with this change and finally decided to have a gym in her house (in the lines of Aamir Khan who also constructed a gym in his house). So, in a few months from now, we will be seeing the slim and sexy Rani of past years.

There are certain people in the political arena who are currently trying very hard to get Aishwarya Rai into politics. Elections are impending in the country which probably will be held in the month of April and the political parties have started doing all that they can do to cross this barrier.

Samaj Wadi party from Uttar Pradesh always had good relations with the Bachchan’s family who also hail from Uttar Pradesh. Mrs. Jaya Bachchan is currently a member of parliament from the Samajwadi party. However, SamajWadi party always tried and hoped to see Mr. Bachchan in the politics. Mr. Bachchan’s endless charisma would definitely be a huge asset for the party. However, Amitabh never really showed any interest in politics and limited himself to movies.

Now, Amar Singh (leader of Samajwadi party) eyed Aishwarya Rai, the daughter-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan who enjoys a huge fan following in the country. Amar Aingh is trying his best to rope in Aishwarya Rai into his party campaign, if not into the party. It was reported that Aishwarya Rai, under the pressure of her mother-in-law has agreed to campaign for Samajwadi party, which means that, this Miss. World will soon be seen on roads with a mike canvassing for political parties.

Amrita Arora will never again perform for live dance shows. She was banned from doing such shows.

Who banned her? Well, its not a ban, but a restriction. Her boy friend Shakeel Ladak was particularly not interested in seeing Amrita dance on live shows and asked her to restrain from performing stage shows and Amrita Arora has readily accepted his request. However, Shakeel has no objection to let Amrita continue working in movies.

Amrita an year back was seeing British Cricketer Usman Afzal, but couldn’t go along with him very well. After breaking with Usman, she found this ‘richch’ businessman Shakeel and their relation got so strong that Amrita is gonna marry Shakeel in a few months, probably in March. Amrita had been performing live shows for New Year for the past four years and she also signed a show for 2009. However, in learning that Shakeel is not happy about her live shows, she stepped back from the offer and declared that she would not perform any stage shows. This is in lines with Kareena Kapoor who also decided to stay away from stage performances as her bf, Saif did not like it.

Though the movie ‘LoveStory 2050′ was a disaster at the box office, the movie presented a new couple to the Bollywood - Harman and Priyanka Chopra. After the movie ended, this couple was seen hanging out in many places. This relation prompted them into doing another movie together, which is currently being shot under the direction of Ashutosh Gowariker. However, this relation seems to have come to an end.

Harman and Amrita Rao have done a movie named ‘Victory’ and it was reported that during this movie, the couple came so close to each other that they find it very hard to leave each other now.  It was reported that Amrita visits the sets of Harman very often to chat with him for a while and after the shoot they usually go out for a coffee. An individual from the set also confirmed that whenever there is a break in the shot, Harman would start a long chat with Amrita over phone. All this in the presence of Priyanka Chopra on the sets. So, it can be safely assumed that Priyanka and Harman are no more on good terms!

Bollywood actors are having tough times! There are many injuries being reported on the shooting spots. A few weeks back, King Khan tore his muscle while shooting a stunt for his film ‘My name is Khan’ in United States. This turned out to be a serious injury and the shooting schedule was changed to delay the action scenes.

Similarly a few weeks back Katrina Kaif had a major accident during an underwater stunt and was saved by Akshay Kumar fortunately.

Now it is the turn of Bolluywood sexy star Sherlyn Chopra and interestingly she was not injured while shooting for the film, but after the shoot was over. Sherlyn is a person full of energy and has the habit of playing after the shoot. On the day she was injured, Sherlyn was playing Hide-and-Seek in the hotel lobby with the film unit and as she was running to hide, she ran into a wall and hit the shard edge of the wall with her forehead. She was injured seriously and was taken to the nearby hospital.

 After she was treated, Sherlyn asked the director for a three day break and the request was denied! The director opted to use a high-technology make-up technique to cover the injury and continue with the shooting. I pity Sherlyn!

Off late Aamir Khan is news more for his eight-pack body than for the block buster movie Ghajini. Aamir Khan developed a great physique for the film Ghajini and is now an inspiration for the youth across the youth. He flaunted his ‘packs’ through out the movie. Aamir always credited his physical trainer Satyajit Chaurasia for his great looks.

Coming to Rani Mukherjee: Rani had been a successful heroine in Bollywood for close to decade, but is hardly seen on the screen  in the recent times. This is largely attributed for the bloated body of Rani which made the producers think twice before signing her in for any film. Rani is obviously unhappy with her weight and started trying to lose some weight but in vain.

At this time, the new hunk of Bollywood, Aamir Khan came to her rescue. It was reported that Aamir introduced his physical trainer Chaurasia to Rani and suggested her to recruit him as physical trainer. Rani followed Aamir’s advice and is now toning herself under Chaurasia’s training. Chaurasia had suggested her many exercises and also imposed a strict diet for her. Within a few months Rani dropped lots of weight and is looking drastically different. Even Rani started praising Chaurasia for all that he has done.

After getting married to Ajay Devagan and turning the mother of a five year old daughter, Kajol is hardly seen against pairing with any hero except Ajay Devagan and Shahrukh. Shahrukh and Kajol is an adored pair even till data among Bollywood movie lovers and though not as a leading lady, Kajol is always roped in to Shahrukh’s projects with some guest role or a music number. Kajol can also be seen in Shahrukh and Karan’s next project, ‘My Name is Khan’.

Apart from this it is reported that Kajol will also pair up with Aamir Khan. After her comeback, Kajol did a full length role in ‘Fanaa’ opposite Aamir Khan and this pair was received very well. So, Aamir has decided to have Kajol play a role in his next movie ‘3 Idiots’. This, of course is not the role of a leading lady and is just a guest role. It was reported that Kajol readily accepted this offer when contacted by the director, Hirani.

Salman Khan regularly gets into news for some bad reasons and has earned a bad-boy image of Bollywood over the years. Now he is back in news with another wrong deed. He smoked in a public place which is against the Indian law which prohibits smoking in public places.

Recently Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devagan were criticized for smoking in the public and now it is Salman’s turn. Salman was shooting for his film in a railway station in Mohali and between the shooting break, Salman lit up a cigarette in the Train Coach. This act was filmed by a private television channel which then passed on the video to a voluntary organization based in Chandigarh. This organization then filed a law suit against Salman for breaking the law and smoking public place. Salman not just smoked in public, but in a railway coach which goes against the railway laws which prohibit smoking in the premises of Railway Station, forget about smoking in a railway coach.
