Asin was a very successful actress in south India, especially in the Tamil Industry. She has acted with almost all the leading heroes in the Tamil as well as the Telugu film industries. Off late, Asin, in the footsteps of her contemporary Genelia has decided to focus on the Bollywood and thus gain national recognition rather than limiting herself to the Southern India. She has made some sincere attempts and finally could get a chance in Aamir Khan’s prestigious project Ghajini.
She considered herself damn lucky to be able to get into such a prestigious film in her first movie in the Bollywood. She considred this movie very important for her future in the Bollywood and thus agreed to all the conditions of Aamir Khan. She also agreed for some skin show, which she usually does not do in the south Indian films. She also dropped all her south Indian movies as per Aamir’s condition that she should not act in any other movie in parallel. Finally she moved her family to Mumbai from Chennai, hoping that she would be able to attract more Bollywood offers by staying in Mumbai.
Everything went fine and Ghajini was finished. However, Asin was highly disappointed by the promos of this film. She believes that Aamir Khan has completely dominated that promos which do not even show Asin for a few seconds. She wanted to gain popularity in the Northern India with this film, but Aamir decided the other way. Asin has expressed her feelings in an interview to a newspaper.
What if she didn’t find a place in the promos? She will anyway be seen in the movie. She shouldn’t have talked so with the concerned newspaper. If Aamir Khan finds this offensive, he will make sure that she has no future in Bollywood!
